Brainlabs
Brainlabs are a digital marketing agency, with offices in London, Manchester, New York, Los Angeles and Singapore. They approached me on Upwork after seeing my profile. They were in the process of building an intranet to bring all of their online resources, worldwide, into one place.
Their primary objectives were:
Create Google Sites pages in their established theme and fill with content based on specifications from their product teams
Create imagery/graphics as needed based on specifications from the product and design team.
Support with transition of materials into branded Google Docs/Slides if necessary and embedding links into the Google Sites intranet
Initially, I was invited to multiple meetings where department managers explored the possibilities and limitations of Google Sites. Using my expert knowledge of the website builder I was able to answer their questions.
The major task that I worked on during the three months I collaborated with Brainlabs was the third objective. There were many hundreds of pages on a wiki called Confluence that needed to be migrated to Google Docs. The Confluence software did not allow for any straightforward export of pages and content. Brainlabs did not have a template for this purpose so my first task was to create a Docs template. After copying across and formatting, each document was then linked in the intranet on pages that mirrored the content on Confluence.
