Based in the Peak District National Park, Baslow Village Hall provides an easily accessible venue for every occasion whether it be for rehearsals, meetings, wedding receptions, charitable events, parties, exhibitions, fairs or sales.
I work on a voluntary basis for my local village hall. I noticed their website looked out of date and they were using the Weebly platform. I informed them that not only could they use Google Sites for free, but, as a registered charity, they could subscribe to Google Workspace for nothing. I agreed to create the website in Google Sites and set up and administrate their Google Workspace account.
As there are a number of people collaborating on the website I created a shared drive within Google Drive. This means that all resources for the website are kept in one place. PDFs stored on Google Drive, such as minutes or user guides (for the booking system), are placed in folders within the shared drive that are public (not restricted). If those PDFs are embedded or linked to on the website then they will be available to any visitor to the site. Sometimes collaborators on a website add a PDF to a site but forget to change the sharing settings.
